Housing
Living in the city of Toledo has some advantages, and the availability of reasonably priced housing is one of the major ones. Single family homes are, by comparison to similar cities, less expensive. The same goes for rents: average home price is about $102,500 and median rent is $225.
Like most city’s its size and vintage, Toledo has a mixture of housing options. It has single family homes in a mix of neighborhoods from blue collar to quite pricey. Many of the older homes are in the small, mostly older and sometimes ethnic neighborhoods closer to center city. Much of the newer luxury development has happened where the city meets the suburbs.
Toledo is fortunate to have some so called regentrification going on. Some older commercial and industrial spaces are being converted to apartments and lofts. There is a big push to create more housing in the city’s commercial districts, to give them around the clock life.
